MARIKO PONCZECK

Mariko is the founder and director of Nashinoko Brands. With her diverse background, the common thread that runs through her life is to connect people, cultures and ideas across the world. Mariko’s passion is to empower people to be their best self, to reach their maximum potential and live a fulfilled life. For businesses this means achieving success by focusing on what they are great at, doing meaningful work whilst enjoying the journey.

With formal training in arts and cultural management, Mariko has worked in brand strategy for the past decade, at renowned agencies such as Peter Schmidt Group, Ogilvy Action/Geometry Global and independent consultancies. Her clients include Issey Miyake, Canon, Flat Iron Steak, as well as Lufthansa, Star Alliance, Städel Museum and Citigroup, among others.

Moving to London in 2010, Mariko set up her own consultancy that later went on to become Nashinoko Brands.

Believing in the importance of giving back and promoting best practice, Mariko is a guest lecturer at Viadrina University Frankfurt (Oder), and has presented at Central Saint Martins, Hult Business School and HMKW Berlin. She is involved in the City University Mentorship Programme and is a member of the BeMore charity.

Mariko is part of the Institute of Directors 99 group. As a participant of the prestigious Peggy Guggenheim Collection internship programme in Venice she became founding member of the London chapter of its global alumni society.
